About

The Renfrewshire Local History Forum was formed in 1988 to act as a link to bring together all the societies in the county which have an interest in history and heritage. The Forum publishes newsletters giving details of events which might be of interest.

The Forum promotes all aspects of history and archaeology in the OLD county or ‘shire’ of Renfrew. This covers the modern administrative authorities of East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and parts of Glasgow.

As well as organising meetings and conferences the Forum publishes an occasional journal (free to members) and also papers and books relating to the history or archaeology of Renfrewshire.

In addition the Forum runs courses on the history and archaeology of Renfrewshire; details will be given in newsletters and on the Forum’s website.

The Forum arranges occasional community archaeological investigations giving members the opportunity to assist and learn archaeological skills
