However, are you able to tell me about recruitment for the 11th Devonshire Guards (or North Devonshire Regiment) which recruited Richard Bruce 12th February, 1831 supposedly (but not definitely) at Paisley. Hello.New to this site. Does anyone know anything about Johnston(e) family William born c1855, father Edward. Both of above left Paisley area c1860-3 to walk to Kidderminster, Worcs. where both were weavers in carpet trade. Cannot find William's birth in any of obvious places or either of them in census 1861.There was a Margaret somewhere in the family, possibly left behind. Any information on them or on possible assistance to go to work in Kidderminster would be gratefully received.
